Topic: Human rights
Assignment: Show the details of the presentation using the 4p rules.
First rule is Planning:
· Identify the purpose: In the very beginning I want to tell you all the purpose of my presentation. I have chosen the topic “HUMAN RIGHTS”. The purpose of my presentation is to give you all awareness about the fundamental human rights which ISLAM and International world has given to us. Its purpose is that we all must know all our rights in order to have them practically.
· Analyze your audience: My audience is my class fellows we know about some basic rights which we have but are unaware about some of them as well. As all of us are humans so we all need to know all of our basic rights which we are given.
· Develop content:
1. Choose your ideas: The purpose of my message is to inform you all that Islam has given us all the rights which are necessary to spend our lives. All what we have to do is to know about them so new should not blame that we are not given with this right etc. Because Islam is a complete code of life, its knowledge is enough to lead a successful life. My idea is basically to tell u that even nowadays, many women think that they do not have their proper rights because they have not studied in detail what Allah has given to them, and some even after knowing do not use it and in my opinion everyone must use his given rights.
2. Collect your data: My data is collected from the Islamic studies which will cover all the fundamental human rights, what these are and how these are utilized in our daily lives. Moreover it is collected from Khutba Hija-Tul-Wida. After seeing the society that what rights they are given with etc. I have collected my data.
· PREPARATION:
1. Attention getting opening: Can you imagine of a life where you are treated as an animal not a human, where you are having no right to spend your life according to you, no right to have shelter, food, to be made slave when a powerful person wants you as his slave, no privacy in your life, a society where there is no difference between an animal or a human? Definitely not because we cannot survive in such an environment. This weird thought even makes us think that how man lived before Islam. Yes this was the condition of mankind before our Holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad [PBUH] came to this world.
2. Key points: My presentation will include following points:
§ What are human rights:
Human rights are those rights and freedoms that belong to every person in the world from birth until death. These basic rights are based on shared values like dignity, fairness, equality, respect and independence. These values are defined and protected by law.
§ What was the condition of mankind before Islam:
Before Islam, mankind stood on its verge of chaos. Human was not treated as human. The one having the power could deal the poor in the way he wanted. Women especially were given no respect and were bitterly treated. This was was called as JAHILLIYA.
§ Basic rights given in Khutba Hija-tul-Wida:
The basic rights given were equality, brotherhood, peace, women rights, respect, honor, life, money etc.
§ Islamic and international rights:
The Islamic and international rights are almost similar because they provide us with all basic necessities of life, provide all basic rights to live a good life.
§ Rights vs duties:
All of us just know that we are having this this right but we are not performing our duties. We should keep in mind that both are to be done at the same time. We should give rights to people which they have on us and perform all our duties in order to have a peaceful environment.
§ Conclusion:
My purpose of selecting this topic and presenting to you was to make you aware about all of your rights and not only this, we are the representatives of Islamic civilization so we should make our characters strong give and receive our rights and perform all our duties with responsibility.
3. The memorable closing:
We all always consider that what we need is important to us means we want to get our rights but we forget our duties and responsibilities. It’s our duty not to keep in mind just our rights but give rights to others what they have on us and perform all our duties we are assigned with in our to maintain a peaceful environment in the society.
· PRACTICE:
First of all I will read my slides thoroughly twice or thrice so that I remember the sequence of my slides and what I have to speak out. Then I will rehearse it almost two to three times so that I must develop confidence on myself that I can deliver it to my audience without any hesitation and I will know that how much time it will take to give my complete presentation. I will practice it so to become able to answer all the questions of my audience. I will practice it in front of a mirror, in front of my family, or I will make some videos to practice it, to develop my confidence and overcome nervousness.
· PRESENTATION:
First of all I will introduce myself in front of my audience like “Aoa beautiful people. My name is Mohsin Khalid and I am here to give you presentation on the topic “HUMAN RIGHTS” “. Then to engage my audience I will start my presentation from a question: Can you imagine of a life like….? Questioning will enable me engage my audience and to establish eye contact with my audience. Then I will start explaining my topic in detail that what human right basically is, what was this world like before Islam and furthermore I will discuss all my points regarding human rights as well as duties in detail. My voice would be loud enough to be heard to all and speed would be slow so that the listeners can easily digest what I am speaking. I will use simple language as my audience will be my class fellows so I will use simple words so to be easily understood by the audience. I will take pauses and will emphasize on the important points for example we should not just know our rights but we should also know all our duties defined by the law. I will also highlight the basic and most important rights of the human beings. At last I will thank them all for listening and I hope they will be knowing all their rights in a better way. I might do questioning from my audience in order to know that they get all the points clearly. In this way, I will be able to present an effective presentation.
